The team at Taylor Wimpey Midlands swapped their gloves for golf clubs last month to show their support for Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry.

Zoë’s Place has three locations in the UK in Coventry, Liverpool and Middlesbrough and is the only baby specific hospice in the country. All hospices provide care to babies and infants aged from birth to 5 years who have life-limiting or life-threatening conditions and require one-to-one support.

Zoë’s Place heavily relies on donations and actively runs monthly fundraising activities to ensure its doors are kept open, and as part of this the Coventry based hospice held its annual Charity Golf Day on Thursday 29th June to fund the services it provides for babies and their families.

This year, Zoë’s Place Golf Day was sponsored by Taylor Wimpey, where two teams of staff went head-to-head with twenty two other teams in a game of golf at Coventry Golf Club, located a few miles from the homebuilder’s Appledown Gate development.

The Golf Day raised approximately £11,800 which will aid with care services including respite and palliative care, therapies, and family support including counselling and bereavement.

Lara Taylerson-Whyte, Corporate Fundraiser at Zoë’s Place Baby Hospice said: “We work to ensure that very unwell children can enjoy the best possible quality of life here at Zoe’s Place. We provide our services free of charge to families who need us, relying on donations and fundraising, which is why our annual Golf Day is so important to the hospice. We are incredibly grateful for Taylor Wimpey’s sponsorship and volunteering team, which have had a massive impact on the success of the event and helped us reach the amazing total.”

Commenting on the sponsorship Ben Walker, Sales and Marketing Director at Taylor Wimpey Midlands said: “Now more than ever, charities like Zoë’s Place are needed in the local community, and the hospice plays a vital role in providing care to babies and infants. We are extremely proud to support the amazing work of this local charity and hope our sponsorship makes a great impact.”
