Thanks to the generosity of businesses across Teesside and the West Midlands, we have surpassed our Big Give Christmas Challenge target.

Between November 28th and December 5th, organisations were asked to donate to our Middlesbrough and Coventry hospices via the Big Give Initiative, with the knowledge that their donations would be DOUBLED if they did so.

One of the many businesses and organisations who helped was Simple Life Homes and The PRS REIT plc, who generously dedicated £15,000 from the offset by agreeing to a charity partnership as part of the challenge.

Niamh Waldron, the organisations ESG Director, said: “Supporting people in communities where we have homes is central to our company values and business at Sigma Capital. We were delighted to be able to support the teams at Zoe’s Place Middlesbrough and Coventry, in their hospice care of families, babies and young children.”

“Having been introduced to the charity by one of our Middlesbrough Simple Life residents, our friendship has grown.”

“Sigma colleagues thoroughly enjoyed the summer Snowdon challenge and opportunity to meet Zoe’s Place team members and learn more. We look forward to continuing our support in the months and years ahead.”

From the hospice’s perspective, it’s heart-warming to know that local businesses really do care and want to make a difference to charities like ours. Given that we currently look after over 120 children, ensuring their families and carers are given the respite they need, it’s crucial these donations continue.

Senior Corporate fundraiser Tommy Harrington said: “It has been an incredible year.”

“Across 2023, we have had support from local businesses on numerous occasions, including our Snowdon Challenge, Go Yellow week, large-scale events, and at corporate gatherings, but the Big Give was the one we really pinned all our hopes on, so we’re really happy.”

We’d personally like to thank all the organisations who took the time to donate across the Big Give week, it has made a difference to the lives of those families we support.

From Tommy and the rest of the team at Zoe’s Place… Merry Christmas, and thank you!
