Kudos for Zoë's Place ...

The care that our team provides is a lifeline to so many families. The vast majority is respite care which affords families the time to be able to do all the things that so often are taken for granted – spending quality time with other members of the family, trips to the park or catching up on missed sleep; safe in the knowledge that their children are being looked after by a highly qualified team of nursing staff.
However, some of families find themselves in our care so that we can offer support with palliative and end of life care too. Our nursing team pride themselves in ensuring we deliver the best care possible in these final moments. Today our team received a welcomed note from a clinician that has recently been involved with the hospice and a family that were in our care.
“I am writing to express my sincere and heartfelt appreciation for the care and support Michelle and her team from Zoë’s Place have provided to one of the families from neonatal unit at JCUH. Although we regularly provide end of life care in community, this is one of our first experiences with providing it at a hospice and I am beyond words for the contribution which Zoë’s Place has provided as a team. I am hoping that this support will continue, and more families will benefit from the Zoë’s team, especially in the scenarios of providing end of life, which as we all will agree should be family centered. Zoë’s team have gone extra miles …. Kudos to the whole team”
