Fans Day Out
Published date: 21 August 2018 by Chris Ward
Zoe’s Place and Coventry Rugby have formed a fantastic new partnership to give rugby fans a fantastic day out whilst raising money for the only specialist baby hospice in the Midlands.
The inaugural Fan’s Day Out will take place on Saturday 13th October and will see hundreds of people walking, tweeting and taking selfies on a fantastic 10km route around the sites of Coventry, starting and finishing at Butts Park Arena, the home of Coventry Rugby.
The aim is to come along with your friends and have a whole lot of fun, and you’ll be back at the Butts Park Arena in plenty of time to watch the IPA Greene King Championship match vs London Scottish, which kicks off at 3pm. Entry to the game is included in the registration fee.
In addition to the match ticket, you’ll be given a route map, T-Shirt and refreshments on arrival back to the Butts Park Arena. It costs £25 to register and we ask that each participant pledges to raise £150 for Zoe’s Place, which will pay for six hours of specialist care and therapy (which could be anything from clinical treatments to music or animal group therapy sessions!) for a child. It’s so important to fundraise so that we can continue to support children (and their families) suffering from life limiting and life ending illness.
So if you and a group of friends, family or colleagues are looking to do something social together and you’d like to show support to two fantastic local organisations, Zoe’s Place providing respite and palliative care to babies and children under five, and Coventry Rugby as they contest the IPA Greene King Championship, get yourself signed up today as places are limited.
Chris Ward, Fundraising Manager at Zoe’s Place said “We want to provide the people of Coventry and Warwickshire with a chance to support Zoe’s Place whilst having fun, getting fit and spending time with like-minded people at the rugby, we need to raise £1.3 million this year to provide a 24/7 service for up 4 children at any one time, next year we would like to be able expand to 6 children, and we can only do this through the continued support from the local community. Please join us on the Fan’s Day Out this October”
Pete Brown, Executive Committee Member at Coventry Rugby said “Coventry Rugby is extremely proud to launch this relationship with local charity Zoe’s Place. We are planning to make this an annual event so we can continue to support this unique, wonderful cause and, at the same time, introduce new people to the Coventry Rugby match day experience. Please get teams of friends and colleagues together for this walk or simply join us yourself on this fun day out”
