Coventry Building Society builds a brighter future
Published date: 05 September 2017
Kind hearted staff from Coventry Building Society have been generating much needed funds for the hospice throughout the summer. Along with organising the Summer Fayre (and turning up in their droves to run the stalls, man the car park and make teas) they have been car cleaning, cake making, holding toy and tuck shop sales and even climbing Mount Snowdon! Their efforts have helped us to raise over £18,000. They paid us a visit and it was wonderful to show them how their fundraising will make a difference.
Fundraising Manager at the hospice, Mick McCann, said “The support we have had from staff at The Coventry has been nothing short of amazing. Their enthusiasm to support us has been incredible. Their fundraising efforts, along with the Summer Fayre, have raised over £18,000 and we are so, so grateful”.
The Hospice supports around 40 families at any one time with respite and end of life care. Caring for a child with a life-limiting illness is a 24hour, 7 days a week job. It can put a lot of families under considerable stress, emotionally and financially but the support from the hospice allows parents to spend some quality time together, have a breather, spend time with other siblings and connect with families in similar situations.
