Hi, I am Faye, Mum to Amelia-Rose. After having Amelia I knew something wasn’t right, and it turned out we were right. After spending a long 13months at Alder Hey with Amelia’s health getting no better and all tests being done, we had a diagnoses witch was mitochondrial complex 1. Everything just started to make sense. We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, with Amelia having learning difficulties. She is also nil by mouth, so every day is hard. Having her big brother Anthony to try and look after as well, things can get on top as a family sometimes.
We found out about Zoë’s place from Amelia’s doctor who suggested we went and had a look around and see how we felt. From the word go I knew Amelia would love it there. The staff truly are angels on earth and if it wasn’t for them, we wouldn’t be able to recharge our batteries and spend time doing things together as a family. Having a child with complex needs is a 24/7 job and without Zoë’s place I couldn’t do that, I would like to thank the staff there from the bottom of my heart.
There are lots of ways you can help to support our special babies, just like Amelia. Whether it is a making a donation, signing up to a fundraising event or coming up with fundraising ideas of your own, it will all help to make a huge difference. Find out how you can help by clicking below...
