The Starley Sportive is back for 2022 and Zoë's Place have a place for you!

Named after inventors John and James Starley, pioneers of the cycling industry,  the ride aims to recognise the contribution made by covering the depth of their hometown, Coventry. The ride has various routes available for all capabilites.

                       Short Route - 28.6 miles:

The short route is an enjoyable ride into the Warwickshire countryside towards Hatton. You only have to look at all the smiles in the photographs from 2019 to see this ride has a real family atmosphere – There are some small inclines but on the whole, this is a rolling route.

                       Long Route – 63.1 miles:

The Starley Sportive Long Route is on undulating roads, it leaves the short route after 13.2 miles just past Hatton Country World. It then takes you out through Snitterfield before making your first of two visits to Alcester. You’ll then take a nice climb up to your ‘feed’ stops before making your way back through Alcester and out towards Wootton Wawen, You will rejoin the short route for your ride back to Coventry.

                       Epic Route – 86.5 miles:

The Starley Sportive Epic Route is not only long but it will also include Dover’s Hill in the Cotswolds. Dover’s Hill has been used for the National Hill climb on no less than 6 occasions. With an average gradient of 9% and a maximum of 14%, the 1.1-mile climb will certainly test even the strongest legs. The Epic riders will split from the long route at the feed station to take on the climb and the extra miles ultimately re-joining the long route again at Wixford (a little more energy sapped)!
