Brave Aliyah Cuts hair For Zoë's Place
Published date: 05 July 2016
About two years ago, Brave Aliyah Grainger decided she wanted to cut her very long and beautiful hair to give to those who need it, and to raise money for charity at the same time. Now in year 5, and after lots of begging to mum and dad, she finally pursuaded them to let her do this very brave challenge.
On Monday 4th July, we were invited along to St Margaret's Church of England Primary School in Warrington, for this event to take place, as Aliyah had chosen Zoë's Place to be the beneficiaries of her fundraising.
In attendance at the assembly, was the whole school, along with all of Aliyahs family (including her nans and great nans) and with special guest appearances from Ben & Wolfie from The Warrington Wolves Team.
After a countdown from 10, Ben cut off around 11 inches of Aliyahs hair, which she has decided to donate to the Princess Trust to be made into a wig for those children who need it. This was followed by an announcement that Aliyah had raised an AMAZING £900 for our hospice.
We cannot thank Aliyah and her family enough for choosing to support us, and for putting in such a huge effort and doing so well with their fundraising.
